Dementia & Alzheimer’s Care

Care from someone who understands why it’s happening.

Dementia care fails when the caretaker takes the behaviour personally. Ours are matched for patience and briefed on what actually helps — routine, redirection, and not arguing with a reality the person can’t step out of.

Tell us what you need

Tell us the stage and which part of the day is hardest. For dementia we match on temperament, and that conversation matters more than the form.

Opens WhatsApp with your details filled in. We usually reply within 15 minutes.

Includes

  • A consistent daily routine, which reduces agitation more than anything else
  • Personal care handled with dignity, including through resistance
  • Supervision for wandering and exit-seeking
  • Support through sundowning and evening agitation
  • Medication reminders and adherence tracking
  • Memory-supporting activities and conversation
  • Notes for the family on behaviour patterns and changes

Does not include

  • Sedation or any medication decision — that is the doctor’s
  • Physical restraint of any kind, ever
  • Clinical procedures — those need a nurse
  • Home safety modification, though we’ll tell you what’s needed
  • A guarantee that no incident will happen — dementia is unpredictable and we won’t pretend otherwise

How it works

  1. Tell us the stage

Early, moderate or advanced — and which part of the day is hardest.

  2. We match on temperament

For dementia this matters more than experience. Patience is the qualification.

  3. Overlap on day one

The caretaker meets your parent while a family member is present, so it isn’t a stranger arriving alone.

  4. Adjust as it changes

Dementia progresses. We review the arrangement as the needs shift.

Questions families ask

My mother gets aggressive. Will they cope?

Tell us upfront and in detail. Aggression is common in mid-stage dementia, and we’d far rather match correctly than have a placement collapse in week one.

Will she even accept a stranger?

Often not at first. That’s why we plan for an overlap period with the family present rather than pretending the handover will be smooth.

Does it have to be the same person every day?

For dementia, yes — it’s essential. A new face daily makes everything worse, so continuity is non-negotiable here.

How do you verify your caretakers and nurses?

Everyone we place goes through document verification, reference checks and police verification before they are placed with you. For nurses we additionally verify the qualification against their nursing registration.

How does pricing work?

It depends on the hours, the level of care, and whether the role needs a nurse or a caretaker. Tell us what you need on WhatsApp and we’ll share exact pricing — all-inclusive, GST included, no hidden costs.

What if the person isn’t the right fit?

Tell us and we’ll replace them at no extra cost. It usually happens in the first week if it happens at all, and it isn’t a problem — getting the match right matters more than getting it right first time.
